Mercedes Himmons is an athletic training and was one of our guests on the “Race in Athletic Training” episode. Mercedes provides unique and fantastic insight into race in the profession and her own interactions with it. We discuss inclusivity in the profession and how it is so important in the profession. Asking questions, listening and trying to comprehend what others go through is so important.
We also discuss Mercedes’s journey through her PhD program. We discussed why going the PhD route was right for her compared to a DAT option. We also get in depth into the thesis that Mercedes’s is finishing up on and about to defend. To say it is the start of something impactful would be a complete understatement.
This was a great conversation and there is a lot to take away. Enjoy.
