Ep. 178: Dr. Abigail Chew-Progressive Mobility and Private Clinic Care

Dr. Abigail Chew is working in a private clinic where she sees a full patient list and practices autonomously. We connected on social media and Dr. Chew was kind enough to share her story about working in this setting and how she ended up there. Entrepreneurship and private practice for athletic trainers are at an all-time high and will continue to grow. Dr. Chew shares the highlights of what it is like working in a private clinic and how that works with practice acts and licensure as well as just trying to establish herself in the community and really build up a patient group.

Dr. Chew also shares some great and unique insight into working with patients with neurologic issues and how as an athletic trainer there is the opportunity to work in unique and potentially complex populations. This episode was filled with amazing insight into working on your own as an AT and everything that goes into the process to make that happen.
