Ep. 56: Susan Taah-Black in the Ivory and Being an AdvocATe

Susan Taah is an industrial athletic trainer among the many other things she does, seriously, it is impressive. In this episode we discuss more topics around race in athletic training and beyond. We discuss #blackintheivory and what many people of color go through in the higher education system. Eye opening and some deep reflection is warranted.

We also discuss microaggresions. A topic that can be polarizing but is something that is needed to be discussed and considered, especially by those in places of privilege. So many seemingly ‘small things’ that can have such a deep impact on so many, it has to be recognized.

We also discuss the industrial setting and how much of an impact athletic trainers can have in this setting. Susan is making things happen and doing so in a data driven, evidence influenced way to help advocate for what she is doing and how she can add value to the company she is working for. Great insight.
