Ep. 64: Alexis Schaefer-Navigating Mental Health as a Clinical Athletic Trainer

Alexis Schaefer is a staff athletic trainer at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse where on top of providing care for sports she leads the departments efforts around mental health. Alexis has an undeniable passion for mental health and how to help increase not only access to help and services but empowering student-athletes to take control of their own mental health and providing tools in order to do that.

In this episode Alexis talks with Greg about the importance of mental health not only in athletic but in general. They get into not only why mental health is so important but how to actual take steps to get things implemented in the department. There is a lot of steps that can be taken that move the needle to make mental health a priority. So much to take away from this episode, enjoy.
